New Opportunities from Oiprint

The Oiprint printing house is actively developing and implementing additional technologies that allow the creation of unique and high-quality printed materials. Ordinary printing no longer impresses, but post-print processing technologies have become an indispensable decorative addition to printed products.

Among the most popular post-print processing methods used in modern printing are embossing and debossing. These technologies give products an aesthetic look, create additional tactile sensations, and help your brand stand out from the competition.

Embossing and Debossing and Their Advantages:

  • Premium aesthetics and prestige of printed products.
  • Visual appeal. These methods make your printed products more attractive and noticeable.
  • Tactile effect. The textured relief enhances the emotional perception of the product, making it more pleasant to touch.
  • Versatility. Embossing is used for various types of printed products — from business cards to cardboard packaging.
  • Protection against counterfeiting. Embossing and debossing are used to create unique elements that are difficult to replicate.

Embossing: The Art of Three-Dimensional Printing

Embossing is a method of applying relief on coated or kraft cardboard and thick paper, allowing images and text with a three-dimensional texture to be created. It is used to highlight logos, brands, and specific design elements. Embossing is also used for creating Braille text. The technology involves using a special metal matrix and counter-matrix, which form the relief under high pressure. This process creates raised elements, making the final product visually appealing.

Braille Text

Special attention should be given to Braille embossing — a special tactile font for individuals with visual impairments. Braille is used for creating brochures and packaging that contain important product information.

Debossing: Variety of Styles and Possibilities

Debossing is the process of creating a relief image on printed material, typically done using a die or special press. It is used to add texture and visual interest to printed products. This technology allows for the application of both text and images on thick paper and cardboard.

Types of Debossing:

By application method:

  • Without foil application.
  • With foil application.

Debossing Types:

  • Blind debossing — debossing without foil, creating an indented image that matches the color of the printed material or a specific design.
  • Foil debossing — debossing with foil applied to the printed material under pressure with a heated die at 110°C to 160°C. The foil can come in various colors and finishes, including matte, glossy, or holographic, allowing for diverse effects. This feature enables the creation of a clean label or image that draws special attention.

Embossed Foil Debossing

This is the process of achieving a raised image by local material deformation between two matrices. This process involves two separate debossing steps combined into one. First, foil debossing is performed, followed by embossing. By combining these two processes, a decorative and exclusive product is created.
